I am drawn to explore facets of human relationship with others and with environment - be it landscape, object, or idea.
Through paintings or photographs, i examine intimate perspectives of those relationships in a context that promotes attachment, suggesting emotionally driven perspectives and introspection. The work creatively evaluates our own personal understanding of relationship, and the principles that motivate them.
Short Biography
Born in 1978 and raised on the west coast of Canada, Jeremy Crowle is a self taught painter and photographer. His early 20's moved him to Gastown Vancouver to pursue a career in the arts. Crowle took up typography at this time as a means to incorporate direct messaging in his paintings of 2001, while naturally becoming more interested in the principals of contemporary design and architecture. From 2002 - 2004 he focused primarily on typography and design while still fulfilling commissioned works and researching architectural practices.
Crowle went on to offer architectural consulting, Art Direction and Photography services for a number of creative agencies internationally, and in 2007 co-founded Change Creative Group; a small illustration studio focusing on modern high end illustration and typography. Crowle's love for photography also inspires a unique and emotive style that remains constant, while subjects depicted in the work are diverse. A simple palette and monochromatic imagery are often used to celebrate a subjects complex posture, as well as simple, emotional and unique qualities.
